Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Vladimir Gelunov, an individual developer based in Brazil ("we"), who runs Langie (langie.app and the Langie apps). By using Langie you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy (langie.app/privacy). If you do not accept them, do not use Langie.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Langie.

The service

Langie helps you learn languages with flashcards, spaced repetition, dialogues, grammar patterns, audio and speaking practice. You can start without an account. The free plan has daily limits that the app shows you. Paid plans remove those limits.

We keep improving Langie, so features, limits and content can change.

Your account

• Give a real e-mail address you can access. You sign in with it, with Google or with Apple.
• Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• An account is for one person. Do not share it or sell it.
• Progress made without an account is tied to your device. Clearing your browser data can lose it. Sign in to keep it.

Paid plans, payments and refunds

Plans and prices (US dollars): Monthly $9.99, Yearly $99.99, Lifetime $199.99. Taxes may be added at checkout.

Polar (polar.sh) sells the plans and takes the payment. Its checkout terms also apply to the purchase.

• Monthly gives paid access for 30 days, Yearly for 365 days, counted from the purchase.
• Monthly and Yearly are subscriptions. Polar charges again at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel with the link in your Polar receipt e-mail or by writing to us. Access stays until the end of the period you paid for.
• Lifetime is a one-time payment. It gives paid access with no end date for as long as Langie is offered.
• If you are signed in when you pay, access is linked to your account and works on all your devices. If not, it is linked to the device and network you paid from.

Refunds: within 14 days of any payment (a first purchase or a renewal) you get a full refund of that payment, no reason needed — write to [email protected] with the e-mail you paid with. After 14 days we decide each request individually. Refunds are issued through Polar, and the paid access that payment bought ends when the refund is issued. Nothing here limits refund or withdrawal rights you have under the consumer law of your country.

If we change prices, the new price applies from your next billing period, and we tell you before that.

Acceptable use

Do not:

• get around the free plan limits or rate limits, for example by faking devices or IP addresses;
• copy content in bulk, scrape the site or call our API with bots;
• attack, overload or probe Langie for weaknesses without our written permission;
• add words or send reports that are unlawful, hateful or infringe the rights of others;
• use Langie to break any law.

Your content

Words you add, answers and reports stay yours. You allow us to store, translate, voice and process them to run Langie and to fix content. Words you add are not shown to other learners.

Machine-made content

Translations, example sentences, word explanations, audio and speech grading in Langie are produced by machine translation, AI models and speech services. They can be wrong. Do not rely on them for anything important, such as legal, medical or official texts. If you see a mistake, report the card so we can fix it.

Our rights

The Langie app, its design and its lesson content belong to us or to our licensors. Photos and word lists from other sources are credited at langie.app/credits. You may use Langie for your own learning. You may not copy, resell or redistribute it.

No warranty

Langie is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be error-free, always available or that you will reach a given level.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost data, profit or opportunity. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Langie at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close an account for a serious breach, we do not refund the unused part of a plan, unless the law requires it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, and the courts of Brazil decide disputes. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protections of the law of the country where you live.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we update the date at the top. If a change affects you in an important way, we tell you in the app or by e-mail before it applies. Using Langie after that means you accept the new terms.
